It’s kind of a winter sport ya know?
We go way back like sandboxes and recess. Back to the days where you kissed but only told your best friend, and she kept it a secret. Giggles and secret handshakes. We go back to getting straight A’s was the cool thing, and going to the playground was an all day affair. The freshest kid on the court was always going to ‘make it out the hood’ and boomdaga’s was an art of it’s own: boxes, snakes, circles. Quarter juices and the big icees from the corner store. When food stamps were actually made of paper. We go back to childhood laughter, hopping fences, beating up the boys. And being one of the boys wasn’t so taboo. To the better days, in my opinion.
I miss my friend.
I miss my childhood.
